Hi! I’m Tara Campling!

I’m a Brighton-based photographer, who specialises in lifestyle and documentary photography. I capture authentic, candid moments, across a range of genres.

I’m somebody who appreciates the beauty in the mundane, taking a candid approach with all of my work to capture scenes exactly as they were.

I believe no moment is ever ‘too boring’ to photograph, and aim to tell a story through every image I take.

Whether I’m documenting travel, everyday life, or events, I’m always drawn to genuine interactions, showcasing the atmosphere, and the small details that often go unnoticed.

I’ve been behind the camera since 2014, starting with my tiny Samsung Galaxy phone, photographing sunsets.

Since then, photography has always been an escape for me. I’ve always had an interest in creative writing and journalism, but after failing my Maths GCSE the first time around, I wasn’t accepted onto the Creative Writing A-Level course and chose photography instead, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Since then, I’ve gone on to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in English Language with Creative Writing and Journalism, alongside a Master’s degree in Photography. I later studied a PGCE in Further Education, where I taught Level 3 Photography as part of my placement hours. Beyond this, I’ve worked within a college Creative Arts department, and now teach photography to two young people with additional needs as part of my tuition work, which I find both rewarding, and inspiring!
